Sidewall height in inches = (Section width × Aspect ratio ÷ 100) ÷ 25.4. Overall diameter = Wheel diameter + 2 × Sidewall height. Circumference = Diameter × π. Revs per mile = 63,360 ÷ Circumference (inches in a mile). For 275/40R19: sidewall = (275 × 0.40) ÷ 25.4 ≈ 4.33 in, diameter = 19 + 8.66 = 27.66 in, circumference ≈ 86.9 in, revs/mile ≈ 729. Using section width as inches or forgetting to double sidewall height (only adding one sidewall) is the most common hand-calculation error.
